How to carry the divine feminine essence into our daily choices

“It’s like a raw gemstone. Before it’s polished, it’s just a lump of rock. But inside, there’s something precious.” – Whisper of the Heart

In that moment from Whisper of the Heart (a Japanese Studio Ghibli movie), Seiji talks about talent, but he could just as easily be talking about the soul. We all carry facets, the hidden superpowers, that lie dormant until life, love and our own deliberate care bring them to light.

This same spirit runs through the goddesses of myth and legend. Across cultures, they embody qualities that modern women still crave today: wisdom, beauty, courage, sensuality, intuition and freedom. Living “through” the goddesses isn’t about worshipping them in a temple, but carrying their essence into our daily choices. Some days, you might call on Saraswati’s clarity, others on Artemis’s independence, Brigid’s hearth-fire or the oceanic mystery of the mermaid. Crystals, born from the patient work of the Earth, become physical touchstones for these energies – pocket-sized reminders of the archetypes you wish to keep alive within you.

Below are five goddesses and archetypes, each with one or two crystals to help you carry their spirit into your daily life.

Saraswati – The flow of wisdom and creativity

In Hindu tradition, Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge, music, learning and eloquence. She is depicted in white, seated on a lotus, the veena (lute) in her hands – a symbol of harmony between intellect and art. Saraswati invites us to cultivate the stillness from which true creativity flows and to live with purity of intention.

Crystal connection: Pearl is the best embodiment of Sarawati’s purity and grace, offering a calm, nurturing energy that bridges the mind and the heart.

Brigid – the hearth’s healing flame

Brigid, the Celtic goddess of healing, poetry and the forge, is both gentle and strong. She tends to the inner hearth, where warmth and renewal begin, and sparks the creative fire that leads to new beginnings. For modern women, Brigid is a reminder to tend to your own flame - physically, emotionally, and spiritually - so you can shine for others without burning out.

Crystal connection: Rose Quartz or pink opal will help to mirror her nurturing heart, drawing love and compassion into your life.

Venus – the art of love and pleasure

Venus, the Roman goddess of love and beauty (Aphrodite to the Greeks), is not just about romance – she embodies the unapologetic enjoyment of life’s pleasures. She invites you to honour your body, delight in beauty, and welcome love in all its forms, from self-adoration to deep connections with others.

Crystal connection: Aquamarine channels calm, flowing intimacy and emotional clarity, while enhancing open communication in love.

Artemis – the untamed huntress

Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon and the hunt, roams the forests with her bow and hounds. She is independent, self-directed and protective of her freedom. For modern women, she is the embodiment of setting boundaries, honouring instincts and walking a path that feels true – regardless of societal expectations. She’s the one protecting the Earth and revering at her bounty. Think: organic food, yoga at sunrise, tending a garden, or even living off-grid under the quiet watch of the moon.

Crystal connection: Jade supports courage, abundance, and connection to nature’s vitality — qualities Artemis embodies in every stride.

Though not a goddess in the traditional sense, the mermaid is an enduring feminine archetype – part human, part sea, entirely untameable. She is both sensual and elusive, guiding us into the depths of our emotions and reminding us of the wild, playful parts of ourselves that cannot be domesticated. In Jungian terms, she represents the bridge to our unconscious, where creativity and transformation dwell.

Crystal connection: Larimar, the “Atlantis stone,” evokes serenity, oceanic depth, and emotional freedom.

How to bring goddess energy into everyday life

Morning self-massage with warm oils to awaken your senses.

Face oiling or gua sha ritual at night to slow down and touch your skin with care.

☆ Create a magic potion: a hand cream with rose oil and mica, a body balm or bath bomb.

Layer jewellery – necklaces, bracelets, anklets – sometimes too many, simply for the joy of adornment.

Choose a signature scent that makes you feel magnetic and alive.

Wear or carry your crystal talisman for the archetype you want to channel that day.

Walk in nature as if it were sacred ground.

Create a seasonal altar with flowers, stones, shells and candles.

Move your body in devotion – dance, yoga, slow stretching.

Speak or jot down blessings over your day before you step outside.
